West Yorkshire police have had phenomenal success in identifying stolen vehicles identified with the same security etching system used by Auto Theft Protect.
 
When three vehicle examiners from West Yorkshire police were executing a warrant at a breakers yard, they had a phenomenal success in identifying no less than 35 stolen vehicles through the etching and registration system.
 
One of the police officers involved in the investigation said he wished "every car manufacturer had their vehicles security etched, as it would make life so much easier for police."
 
The operator who handled the enquiry from the West Yorkshire police vehicle examining team said the officer was 'over the moon' with the number of vehicles identified as a result of the system.
